Summer Cookout Etiquette

Summer Cookout Etiquette

  1. Never show up empty-handed.
  2. Don't bring cheap beer, then drink up all the good stuff. Either bring what you drink or what the host drinks.
  3. If it starts at noon, don't show up at six, especially if you're bringing a dish.
  4. Keep an eye on your kids...ALWAYS!
  5. Bring a guest, not an entourage, unless previously discussed.
  6. Whatever food/drink you bring becomes community property. Do not take it home with you!
  7. Don't start eating before saying hello. HELLO!
  8. Leave at a decent hour. If the host is yawning, it's time to GO!
  9. Don't try to claim ownership of chairs. Get in where you fit in.
  10. R.S.V.P. Are you coming or not???
  11. Know your limit. Don't be the drunken slob everyone's talking about on the way home.
  12. Don't flirt with someone else's significant other. Scope out your surroundings before making a move. When in doubt, ask the host.
